Crack Shots – Cubs District Shooting Competition October 2014 05/11/2014 (updated 23/01/2015) | By Paul McCulloch | 0 Comments Our Cubs entered 2 teams in the annual District air rifle shooting competition this year. With no practice our Cubs had a great result coming 3rd and 5th in the team event and well Done to Dylan who came 3rd in the individuals.
Air Activities – Come fly with me – September 2014 01/10/2014 (updated 04/10/2014) | By Paul McCulloch | 0 Comments On the 27th September Akela drove a minibus filled with 11 cubs ( and some leaders!) to visit Gatwick Aviation Museum, This year the Cubs have been working towards their Air Activities badge and needed to visit a museum and learn more about planes. A great time was had by all and the Cubs got to go inside a Shackleton plane from the cold war 60’s and talk to the original Captain who used to fly the plane. Many thanks to our Guide who gave us a tour and to the Captain of the plane.
Road Safety – Ask a Policeman – September 2014 01/10/2014 (updated 01/10/2014) | By Paul McCulloch | 0 Comments With the dark nights and winter coming the cubs had great fun learning about Road safety and were able to ask a Cub parent all about his job in Sussex Police. The Cubs even got to see and hold the different types of Truncheon and night sticks that the police have used over the years. We nearly lost KAA who went off and hid in the dark in high viz clothing so the Cubs could shine a torch to try and spot him. Many Thanks to PC Pattenden for coming in.
